What to Expect
As a licensed practitioner, it is our duty to do the following:
- A case history: A thorough review of your specific problem, relevant past history, and your overall health.
- An examination: The physical tests and movements that you are asked to do to help identify the problem.
- An X-ray: In certain situations, an x-ray may be used to determine the source of your problem and to investigate for the presence of pathological processes.
- A diagnosis: The definition of your problem which helps to make certain choices clear. Is this a chiropractic problem? If not, a suitable referral will be done. If it is, a plan of treatment will be communicated.
- A prognosis: The estimate of how your problem, once diagnosed and considered in the context of your general health habits, occupation, stress, and activity levels will respond to chiropractic care. Your response to treatment will be monitored by your chiropractor, who will be looking for an improvement to your specific condition, as well as for changes in your overall health. Two of the basic components of chiropractic care are wellness and prevention. Utilization of exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle modification will be suggested to improve your overall well-being and promote active, patient-centered care.
